Wetland Delineation
Wetland delineations, or the identification, survey and mapping of wetlands, are required for new construction or modification of the landscape that may affect a watershed. Wetland delineators are required to successfully complete courses approved by individual states and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
A wetland delineation is completed by identifying and mapping the location of hydric soils and plants that are wetland-dependent. The wetlands are mapped into a GIS where they can be overlaid with project designs so as to minimize impacts and improve construction efficiency. Our wetland delineators are professional ecologists or botanists who have completed all necessary training and have conducted wetland delineations under the supervision of experienced professionals. We assist in project design and mitigation for both small and large scale projects. We believe it is both possible and desirable to meet the conservation needs of wetland protection within the project design and thus can assist in every step from conception, through permitting, to long term mitigation monitoring.
